Wednesday Wave Check: Good Energy

Show up to work or class a little late!!

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.  Well, this looks like one of those days when you just might want to show up to the office or class a little late!!  Yep, our run of pretty good-size surf is sticking around for another day.

It's nice and clean out there early on, with a combination of some modest holding west-northwest swell and some pretty minor remnant south-southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is giving us some racy and fairly broken-up lines, with some nice steep shoulders to snag.  Most San Clemente spots are seeing waist- to shoulder-high waves, with the standout combo breaks pulling a few plus sets on the right tide.

At 7:11 this morning the tide climbed way up to a 5.5 high, which is going to have many spots in this neck of the woods pretty full and a bit inconsistent early to mid-morning.  Your best bet is once that tide drops a bit, eventually draining out to a negative 0.7 low at 2:03 this afternoon.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or maybe a 4/3 and possibly the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 57 and 58 degrees.  See ya in the water!
