Friends of San Clemente Parks Foundation Hosts First Golf Tournament
Over $10,000 raised to help the city's recreational activities.
Friends of San Clemente Parks Foundation hosted its first ever four-person scramble shotgun-start golf tournament on Friday.
Raising over $10,000, the foundation will put the funds to use by helping the city's recreactional activities, such as beach concerts.
"Our turnout was great today," said John Dorey, co-chair of the tournament and the foundation's director. "We had 100 people come out today and I'd like to thank them all."

Dorey also had a few words for the community and the participating players who donated.
"I'd like to thank the community," he said. "We've had lots of support from them. I'd also like to thank Dick Veale who tought us how to put all of this together."
