Don't Forget to Sign Up for S.C. Rotary Golf Tournament

With the May 16 tournament, San Clemente Sunrise Rotarians hope to make it half a million.

Half a million dollars--that’s a lot of pocket change by anyone’s standards.

The San Clemente Sunrise Rotary Club is close to raising that with their Tenth Annual Golf Tournament.

May 16, the club will host the tournament at Bella Collina Town and Golf Club in San Clemente.

Over the last ten years, and with a generous community’s outstanding support, the Club has raised $425,000 for local charities with the proceeds of the Golf Tournament.

With the community’s help, this could be the year to make it half a million dollars.

And all this money stays here in the community, helping children, helping families, and maybe just as important, helping supporters understand how addicting it can be to help others.

The first tournament, held in 2001, was to raise money to help improve the lives of as many of their clients as they could. And Rotarians and the generous community supporters who participated in that first golf tournament found out that not only was it a great day with great fellowship, it was a great feeling to be able to help others in the community.

Come out and support the San Clemente Sunrise Rotary Club with your four-some. Or even with your two-some or one-some.

It has been a rough year economically speaking. But just think how much harder it has been for people who were already having a hard time. Like the clients of Laura’s House, the clients of Family Ministries, and lots of people in our community.

Participating in Rotary events means help for the children in our schools. It’s help for college scholarships. It’s help for the students in the award-winning Seventh Inning Stretch and the Boys and Girls Club.

It’s help for our future.

Can your business sponsor or donate something? If so, you can help even if you don’t golf.

There will be a Ball Drop, Silent Auction, Raffle, Prizes, a great dinner and fellowship for Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike.  And the satisfaction that you will be able to help real people in real need will last long after the holes-in-one have been forgotten.

Contact Jim Rutter, tournament chairman at 949-361-6845, or Tom McGilligan, tournament director at 929-369-0805 to sign up for a beautiful day.
