A New Restaurant, a New Interchange, Helping Haiti and More

Here's what's going on in San Clemente this week.

1. Now open for business: Ellie’s Table, the new restaurant at the Casino, finally opens Wednesday to the public. Did you see their deserts at the Taste of San Clemente? We’re there!

2. Want a firsthand look at the new Pico interchange? The Orange County Transportation Authority is hosting an open house so that members of the public can learn how the carpool lanes on the I-5 Freeway will be extended south and the Pico interchange will be rebuilt. The $275 million Avenida Pico interchange work is slated to start late next year. Residents can ask questions and get information about the project from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrews by the Sea Church, 2001 Calle Frontera in San Clemente.

3. Not your normal school fundraiser: Nov. 9 Dine out at the OC Tavern  Saturday, catch the Rolling Stones tribute band, Satisfaction, and donate 10 percent of the bar tab to Shorecliffs Middle School. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.
