One More Day of Winter Break, Pizza Dough and More

What's going on this week in San Clemente.

1. Just when parents thought winter break was over: Nope, you're not done yet. Students in Capistrano Unified don't return to school until Tuesday. Monday is a teacher training day.

2. Eat some dough, raise some dough: There’s a fundraiser at Selma’s Chicago Pizzeria for Miles4Autism, starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday. You need to tell your order taker/server as you are seated you are there for Miles4Autism.  Miles4Autism is a new not-for-profit based in San Clemente.  We have quarterly fundraisers at Selma's Chicago Pizzeria to help raise Autism Awareness

3. Dems the meeting: The South Orange County Democratic Club’s monthly meeting is 6 p.m. Wednesday at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center. The topic is Habitat for Humanity homebuilding overseas throughout the years

4. Interested in checking out the Two-Way Spanish program? Tours begin this week, with the first one 9 a.m. Friday at Las Palmas Elementary. Parents of children who will enter kindergarten in September 2014 are encouraged to come and learn all about the Two-Way Language Immersion Program at San Juan Elementary School. This is a very popular program. Space is limited and parents must attend a tour to be on the interest list.
