The event will begin with an 18-hole shotgun start at Shorecliffs Golf Club at 7 a.m. move to San Luis Rey Park for lawn bowling, proceed to the Boys & Girls Club for basketball free throws, ping pong, pool and frisbee golf, then conclude at the Elks Lodge for darts, libations and appetizers sponsored by the Elks Lodge in San Clemente.
Registration fee is $150 per player, or $300 for a two-person team and includes lunch, an event apparel keepsake and appetizers upon event conclusion at approximately 5:30pm. Teams can earn five additional points to add to their total score by securing team sponsors for $200, maximum of two sponsors or 10 additional points per team.

2. Tricks are for kids: The 13th Annual SC Open skate contest promotes local boarders while offering a healthy competition for youth and raising funds for the Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks & Recreation Foundation. The contest typically draws more than 1,000 spectators and 100 youth athletes. The contest will be held on Saturday at Ralph’s Skate Court at 241 Avenida La Pata, and will include the “best trick” contest. There is a $35 registration fee to compete in the contest. All contestants will receive a sponsor T-shirt and have an opportunity to win prizes and a cash prize for the best trick. Pre-registration is accepted online at san-clemente.org and on-site registration/check-in begins at 7 a.m. the day of the event. Skaterboarders must wear proper safety equipment. 3. Oooh, pretty colors: On Saturday, there will be a Winsor & Newton watercolor demonstration at San Clemente Art Supply from 1-3 p.m.
