Time to Put on the Glitz, Clean the Beach and Eat Leftovers

What's going on this weekend in San Clemente.

1. Time to clean up: The beach that is. Doheny State Beach will offer its last “housekeeping” event of the year. If you’re interested in helping clean up the beach, the park and San Juan Creek, bring a pair of work gloves with you for the 9 a.m.-noon event Saturday.

2. Ready to get glitzed up? The holiday season begins! Saturday from 5-9 p.m. along Del Mar, you can shop, visit Santa, enjoy carolers, eat roasted chestnuts (and DO tell us what they taste like, we’re curious) and partake in many other holiday merriment. It’s called “Putting on the Glitz,”  and it’s all to give you that homey, village feeling.

3. Tis the season to eat leftovers: Don’t forget our article with Thanksgiving leftover recipes.
