Congrats to Corey Miller & his family on the news he was drafted by the Milwakee Brewers. Both aRead More fine young man & excellent athlete. The patch article however is mistaken he is a right handed pitcher (not lefthanded as the article indicates) and a very good one at that. This picture is stretched far beyond it's pixels or it wasn't a digital pic that the writer TRIED toRead More convert. Comment above isn't 100% positive either.

The article (and photo) is a contribution to Patch, not from Patch, as indicated in the subhead.Read More Thanks for the correction on which hand Miller uses.

"Heavy sigh. I'm the moderator here." Sorry, Penny. When you gave mfriedrich a positiveRead More response to his off-topic post I interpreted that as your encouragment of said discussion. It does get confusing at times from a poster's perspective. I sure you could understand that. :^) "JustUs, while your comments don't violate TOU, they do get close." It's uncanny that fact chucker can insult and provoke me and you don't name him specifically at all. But if I respond back in kind to his rude comments you name and admonish me. That is not what I would call an objective moderator. And if I violate your policies by observing and communicating the simple truth on this matter then do what you got to do. Just because you are a moderator you should not be allowed to play favorites here.

My two cents: El Toro is a three-point shooting team. It had a good half, and it had a bad half.Read More When you don't make your shots (as in the second half) you don't necessarily get a chance to set up on defense. It happened in the 1A finals at the arena, and happened in the second half against a very good Loyola team that is among the best in the state. Shooters shoot, and they keep shooting until their touch comes back. A shooting touch isn't a reflection on the coach. Turnovers against Loyola's pressure defense (after it started making some shots and had a chance to set up) hurt El Toro. There's all kinds of bad things that happen on the basketball court when you don't score.

I admonished all. I also deleted your detractors' comments and reprinted yours that were undulyRead More deleted. I shall close this thread, as it's a disservice to those who care about the subject games. Next article, I encourage ALL of you to stick to the subject and learn to agree to disagree respectfully.

The world of professional surfing has been hurting for quite some time. The ASP World Tour hasRead More scaled back the number of events they hold. Obviously sponsorship does not feel that they are getting the return for their investment in these contests. Comp surfing needs to re-think their whole system. I'm sure that they already have done so.
