A southern-California native, Ariana grew up in Capistrano Beach and graduated from San Clemente High School. She has a lot of great memories spending time with friends at the pier and on Ave. Del Mar. After taking a few years off of school to travel, she graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Literary Journalism. While in school, she interned for the San Clemente Sun Post and Coast Magazine.
In addition to freelancing for Patch, she currently works for a non-profit in Irvine, the Center for Living Peace, which focuses on peace education, effective communication, safeguarding the environment, arts and culture.
Ariana is an outspoken liberal, who has volunteered and canvassed for President Obama. She is a card-carrying Democrat, an NPR junkie, and a vegetarian. She has participated in several protests and rallies for the rights of gays and immigrants.
In her spare time, she enjoys baking, crafting, reading (especially comic books), watching movies, and obsessing over her dog, Maeby, a corgi mix that she and her boyfriend rescued in 2009.
She is an agnostic who was raised by a Muslim mother and a Catholic father.
