Man Hits the Head and Stays, Seems Suspicious

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a cat prompts a threatening letter, a woman is nearly robbed and a hit-and-run driver doesn't get very far.

At 5:09 a.m. Friday Nov. 22, someone reported a suspicious person in the 2300 block of El Camino Real. The caller said a man had gone into the restroom more than an hour ago and was still inside.

At 1:18 p.m. Saturday Nov. 23, deputies received a report of a suspicious person in the 3200 block of Paseo Gallita. The caller explained someone had left a threatening letter on his car. The caller believed it might had been a neighbor who was angry about the caller’s cat.

At 5:41 p.m. Saturday Nov. 23, a concerned woman called to report a suspicious person in the 100 block of Avenida Del Poniente. The caller said while she was attempting to move into a new residence, a possibly drunk man was caught trying to steal objects inside her car. The informant claimed she threatened the thief with pepper spray, got into a black Toyota, circled around the block, and went inside a local restaurant.

At 9:41 p.m. Saturday Nov. 23, a worried caller reported a hit and run in the 2400 block of Avenida Mastil. The caller explained a gray Dodge hit a parked car and then drove away. Deputies tracked down the alleged offender and arrested a 62-year-old man, who has since been released from jail.
