CRIME REPORTS: Alleged Lewd Activity at the Library

These are records of callers reporting significant crimes or disturbances. They are pulled from the police dispatcher's blotter from the last several days.

At 8:25 a.m. Wednesday Paradise Jewelers on the 800 block of El Camino Real reported a grand theft. Police reported this was most like an employee theft.  

At 12:31 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a middle aged transient male was "masturbating in front of his son" at the San Clemente Library. The transient man was last seen walking towards the pier with his bicycle in a plaid flannel. Police made no arrest as a result of the call.  

At 9:01 a.m.Tuesday, a caller complained there were developers cutting down trees at the end of Via Socorro. The trees were apparently in an area protected by a costal protection group.

At 8:27 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a suspicious person call at the cross streets of Avenida Pico and Calle Del Cerro. A man with a skateboard was repeatedly crossing the street expecting traffic to stop, the caller said. Police made no arrest. 

At 12:49 p.m. Tuesday, a female caller complained of a suspicious person on the 2900 block of Calle Frontera. The male subject was going from door to door repeatedly ringing door bells. The caller said, after waiting several minutes he would return to ring the door bell again.

At 11:09 p.m. Monday, a caller reported there were two motorcycles racing at the end of Avenida  Pico and Camino La Pedriza. Police made no arrest. 

At 6:31 p.m. Monday, police conducted a welfare check off Camino De Estrella. A man was walking up and down the center meridian and repeatedly stepping into traffic. Police suspected he was homeless, according to the report. 

At 3:22 p.m. Monday, police responded to a suspicious persons call at Avenida Pico and the I-5 freeway. There were four minors smoking pot behind the dumpster at Carrow’s restaurant, the caller said. 

At 7:23 a.m. Monday, police responded to a hit and run in the San Clemente High School parking lot. The assistant principle was one of the witnesses. 

At 6:10 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a trespassing call at Stud Cuts Barber Shop on El Camino Real. A white male in his 70’s was sitting in the barber shop waving his hands, yelling and refused to leave when asked.
