CRIME REPORTS: Mental Breakdown, Stolen iPad

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 12:14 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 300 block of Acebo Lane. According to the report, a man appeared to be having a mental break down in a laundry room. Deputies detained the man after he was heard screaming and breaking things.

At 9:14 p.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 21-year-old-man for burglary in the 3700 block of El Camino Real. The man had taken a subject’s iPad from the Comfort Inn Motel. He was taken into custody and bail was set for $50.000.

At 10:54 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 500 block of El Camino Real. The report stated that a male customer at the Interlimits Smoke Shop was refusing to leave the store when asked. The man was in his 50s and was becoming verbally abusive. Deputies reported detaining one subject.

At 8:06 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a traffic accident with unknown injuries near the Camino Vera Cruz and Costero Risco intersection. The report stated that a cyclist had collided with a vehicle. Firefighters were responding for minor injuries. 

At 12:07 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 200 block of La Paloma. The report stated that a man in his 70s was standing outside and playing satanic music while wearing headphones.

At 11:40 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to conduct a patrol check in the 5600 block of Costa Maritima. The report stated that a group of minors were seen breaking into a community pool, though it was closed. 

At 11:07 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Avenida San Diego. The informant reported a man who was repeatedly punching a vehicle. The vehicle was a silver SUV.

At 7:14 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to investigate a person down near the Avenida Santa Barbara and the Avenida Victoria intersection. The report stated a drunk man in his early 20s was repeatedly falling off a motorized scooter. The man reportedly fell into the street and had several injuries. 

At 9:21 p.m. Saturday, deputies arrested a drunk driver near the Camino Mira Costa and Plaza Estival intersection. The report stated that a 32-year-old-woman was intoxicated while driving a small red truck. The woman had reportedly run into the curb before turing into a gated community. She was taken into custody and has since been released. 

At 8:54 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to assist a citizen in the 2400 block of Court Merlango. The informant reported that their neighbor has been reportedly giving their 15-year-old son cigarettes. Deputies responded to assist with the situation.
