CRIME REPORTS: Apple Bongs, Loud Parties and a Drunk in the Library

Here are various crimes pulled from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a domestic dispute on the 1100 block of Calle Del Cerro. A male and female had been arguing for quite some time in the Whispering Winds apartments and were disturbing the neighbors. The female was slamming things and had erratic behavior. Police made no report of an arrest.

At 9:44 p.m. Monday night, a caller reported a disturbance on the 200 block of El Camino Real. It was reported that a male was pushing a woman into the side of a van and pulling her hair in the parking lot of a dry cleaner. Police provided no further information. 

At 7:01 p.m. Monday night, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle on the 1200 block of Via La Jolla. The caller said there was a black Jeep parked out side of a their homes gate and it appeared the passengers were smoking marijuana.

At 1:45 p.m. Monday afternoon, a caller witnessed a hit and run on the 100 block of El Portal. A green Ford Explorer was hit by a black SUV with two white mattresses on top. The SUV was last seen heading south on El Camino Real. 

At 12:00 p.m. Monday police investigated a dead body 2100 block of Via Aguila. It was reported that the body was an old man and he was extremely cold. No further information was provided.

At 9:39 p.m. Monday morning, a battery report was called from the 100 block of Calle Patricia. A painter was contracted by the Sea-View Town Homes association to paint one of the units. The owner of unit had become hostile with the painter and threw his coffee at him. The painter was very upset and wanted to file a report. 

At 3:21 a.m. Sunday morning, a caller reported that a loud party was in progress on the 100 block of Marquita. Police said there were several subjects in the garage screaming, playing loud music, and having a party. Police reported there were at least eight other complaints of loud parties in San Clemente that evening. 

At 10:34 a.m. Saturday morning, a caller reported a suspicious person on the cross streets of El Camino Real and Avenida Cabrillo. There was a man in the street yelling at the top of his lungs and was suspected to be on some kind of narcotics. He was last seen heading south on El Camino Real. 

At 8:36 a.m. Saturday morning, police responded to a suspicious persons call on the 100 block of Avenida De La Paz. Police reported there were two men in a white pickup truck smoking marijuana out of an apple bong. Police made no report of an arrest.

At 7:40 p.m. A caller reported a drunk in public on the 200 block of Avenida Del Mar. A San Clemente Library employee told police, there was a man in his early 30’s who stumbled into the library and began harassing the customers. After several minutes of yelling, he left heading down Del Mar and was throwing his soda all over the place and continued to yell at people walking by.
