CRIME REPORTS: Baby Stops Breathing and Person Hit by Train

Selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 11:49 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a traffic accident with unknown injuries in the 200 block of Avenida Califia. It appeared in the report that a pedestrian was hit by an Amtrak train near Califia State Beach. The train driver located a body.

At 5:12 p.m., a caller reported a disturbance near Avenida Califia and Ola Vista. A woman in her 50s who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics was standing in traffic with a mint-colored bicycle. The woman later dropped her bike in the middle of the street and attempted to get into a parked vehicle.

At 1:07 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 100 block of Calle Patricia. The caller said marijuana plants could be seen through a window.

At 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, police arrested a 30-year-old man in the 100 block of Calle Miramar. The man was driving without a license and was placed in custody with bail of $25,000.

At 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a missing adult from the 300 block of Plaza Estival. The caller was concerned because her husband and two daughters had gone for a bike ride along Estrella toward the landfill and she had not heard from them for two hours.

At 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance near the cross streets of Avenida Talega and Camino Tierra Grande. The caller said about 10 minors were pretending to pull a rope across the street.

At 11:29 a.m. Wednesday, deputies assisted the county Fire Authority on the 200 block of Avenida Rosa. There was a 19-month-old baby who had stopped breathing. The report said fire crews got the baby breathing again.

At 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, police arrested a 62-year-old man on the 300 block of Paseo De Cristobal. The man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he allegedly urinated and yelled on private property near T-Street. He was placed in custody with bail of $41,500.

At 6:38 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance near Vista Hermosa and Vista Del Oceano. The caller said several people in a grassy area near Marblehead school were tossing water balloons at passing cars. No arrests were reported.

At 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance on the 900 block of Avenida Pico. The caller said a group of solicitors at an Albertsons grocery store were harassing customers and refusing to leave when asked.
