CRIME REPORTS: Hiker Finds Dead Body in Creek Bed

Selected reports from the San Clemente police dispatch services log over the past few days.

At 2:38 a.m. Tuesday, police arrested a 38-year-old-man in the 900 block of Avenida Presidio. According to the report, the man was in possession of opium, and had a previous warrant out for his arrest. 

At 2:11 a.m. Tuesday, police assisted firefighters near the East Avenida Palizada and El Camino Real intersection. A man was reportedly assaulted by two subjects who took off in a black Suburban. Police were responding to he hospital to report with the victim. 

At 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of El Camino Real. The report stated that a large woman was between the Red Fox Lounge and Goodies Tavern being physical with another subject.

At 5:05 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 300 block of El Camino Real. The report stated that local transient woman known for screaming at passers by, had walked into the Bank of America and started cussing at everyone in the building. She was last seen heading towards Starbucks. 

At 2:50 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 1100 block of Buena Vista. According to a San Clemente City lifeguard, a man was disturbing the peace and drinking behind a public bathroom. Police were responding as a lifeguard was standing by.

At 10:18 p.m. Sunday, police were called to investigate a dead body near the Avenida San Diego and El Camino Real intersection. According to the report, the informant was hiking along the San Mateo creek bed and believed they found a dead body. Police confirmed there was a dead body.

At 8:46 p.m. Sunday, police were called to conduct a welfare check in the 800 block of Avenida Pico. According to the report, two high school aged girls were reportedly kicked out of their home by their drunk mother. The informant was concerned for the girls' safety and requested that police meet with them near Albertsons. 

At 8:19 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 2800 block of Calle Guadalajara. According to the report, a 42-year-old woman who has a history of assaulting people pulled a knife on her parents. 

At 7:31 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance near the Calle De Los Alamos and Calle Roca Vista intersection. According to the report, three male minors were seen throwing rocks from the cliff bluffs at people using the beach trail. It’s likely the minors were throwing the rocks from Leslie Park. 

At 2:38 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a robbery in progress in the 500 block of El Camino Real. The victim reported that four to six subjects jumped out of an SUV, hit her in the head, and then took her belongings. The report stated the subjects possibly had hand guns. 

At 1:31 a.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the first block of Pas Verde. According to the report, a loud party was breaking up and there were a lot of kids driving drunk. 

At 11:10 p.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Calle Serena and Calle De Los Alamos intersection. According to the report, a man had gotten into a verbal argument with several subjects who were throwing water balloons at his vehicle.
