Crime Reports: Drunk Absconds From Hospital With IV

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 1:06 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a drunk in public in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, a 51-year-old woman ran out of San Clemente Hospital in a hospital gown and appeared to be intoxicated. She was reportedly being chased by hospital security and the staff needed her to return because she still had an IV in place. She was eventually taken back to the hospital. 

At 10:50 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a firearm discharge in the 100 block of Avenida Adobe. According to the report, the informant heard a medium-caliber pistol fire ten shots in a canyon area. The informant was in the military and knew it was a firearm. 

At 9:35 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 2300 block of Calle Lobina. According to the report, there was an argument between the informant and her daughter. The daughter reportedly assaulted her mother and then broke a bedroom window.

At 6:15 p.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 56-year-old-man near the El Camino Real and Marquita intersection. According to the report, the man was seen stumbling out of a drug store then got into a black Chrysler convertible. There were numerous people who witnessed the man stumbling, and deputies took the man into custody. 

At 5:15 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 2300 block of El Camino Real. The informant was reportedly threatened by an employee of a local tire shop after pointing out damage on their vehicle which they suspected happened in the shop. The informant was refusing to pay their bill and the party appeared to be in a heated verbal argument.

At 9:45 a.m. Thursday, deputies assisted firefighters in the 300 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, firefighters and police were needed to assist with an elderly man who was drunk and agitated and Trader Joe’s. 

At  9:53 p.m. Wednesday, deputies assisted animal control near the Calle Frontera and Avenida Pico intersection. Vehicles were reportedly swerving around an injured possum was were almost getting into an accident. 

At 9:26 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1700 block of Avenida Estacion. According to the report, there was a group of minors drinking alcohol and driving in the North Beach area. 

At 6:46 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to make a warrant arrest in the first block of Cornelio. According to the report, a 24-year-old-woman was reported to police by family members because she had a warrant out for her arrest and was possibly under the influence of opium.

At 11:33 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a drunk in public in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, a man in his 40s was drunk and reportedly walking in and out of 7-Eleven. Police detained the man after discovering he was on probation.
