CRIME REPORTS: Renegade VW Bus and Pepper Sprayed at a Bar

Selected reports from the San Clemente police dispatch services log over the past few days.

At 2:56 a.m. Friday, police arrested a 26-year-old woman in the 200 block of Avenida Montalvo. The woman was seen drinking out of a bottle and breaking into parked cars with a man. The man and the woman were both detained by police at 259 Lobeiro.

At 2:27 a.m. Friday, police arrested a 26-year-old man in the 1700 block of Colina Terrestre. He appeared to be driving while intoxicated and drove a Volkswagen bus off the side of the road into a ravine. The man was seen walking away from the scene and police took him into custody. 

At 2:03 a.m. Friday, police were called to conduct a patrol check near the Avenida La Pata and Vista Hermosa intersection. The informant was picking up his/her 20-year-old son from a friend's house and found him bloodied and extremely drunk. The son exited his parent's vehicle and ran toward Hermosa wearing only one shoe.

At 10:31 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 400 block of Camino De Estrella. Several people had been loitering outside Bob’s Fine Wine store. Police detained four people. 

At 7:06 p.m. Thursday, police conducted a patrol check near the Avenida Aragon and El Camino Real intersection. A person riding a bicycle on the wrong side of Avenida Aragon was almost hit by the informant's vehicle.

At 7:02 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1900 block of El Camino Real. An intoxicated man in his 20s at the Outrigger Tavern was causing a scene. 

At 2:12 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance near the Avenida Cabrillo and El Camino Real intersection. Six to 10 minors were seen drinking alcohol and throwing glass bottles in a vacant lot. 

At 11:24 p.m. Wednesday, police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of battery in the 100 block of El Camino Real. The informant was reportedly pepper sprayed by a bouncer at Ole’s Tavern without cause. The informant was given a ride home by police after firefighters arrived. The man was taken into custody and bail was set for $500. 

At 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to investigate a person down in the 1300 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, a transient woman was  curled in a ball at the front steps of a business. Firefighters were dispatched as the woman was suspected of having alcohol poisoning.
