CRIME REPORTS: Man in Street Hopes to Get Hit by Car

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 3:56 a.m. Friday, deputies were called to conduct a patrol check in the 400 block of Plaza Estival. The report stated that a large water line had broken and was shooting water into the air. 

At 2:40 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a drunk in public in the 100 block of Avenida Cabrillo. The informant that an intoxicated man was wondering around El Camino Real. The man appeared to need a cab ride home. 

At 11:03 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called to assist a citizen in the 3200 block of Avenida Del Presidente. The informant stated he found some type of illegal narcotic on the patio.

At 11:02 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. The report stated that a man was bothering customers at a local business by yelling at them and banging on trashcans. 

At 5:26 p.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 40-year-old woman in the 100 block of El Portal. The woman was reportedly caught stealing from the La Tienda thrift store. She was chased along with one other woman by a store employee and had a previous existing warrant. She was taken into custody and has since been released on a bond.

At 4:55 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 3700 block of El Camino real. The informant reportedly saw a transient doing cartwheels and was concerned he was going to hurt himself. 

At 1:34 a.m. Thursday, deputies were called to a report of unknown trouble near the Avenida Presidente and Avenida Magdalena intersection. The report stated that police were needed to assist with a man who was lying in the middle of the street and attempting to get hit by a car. 

At 9:26 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance near the south El Camino Real and Avenida Granada intersection. The report stated that a man was wandering into traffic lanes near Dukes as he screamed obscenities. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 6:33 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to assist a citizen in the first block of Pas Alba. The report stated that the informant was being harassed by their neighbor who was repeatedly putting a salt around a tree. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the Avenida Del Presidente and Christianitos Road. According to the report, a man and a woman appeared to be engaging in lewd activity in a grassy area near Cypress Shores.
