CRIME REPORTS: Possible Pedophiles, Armed Robbers, Found Narcotics

Here are various reports pulled from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 10:03 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance near the West Avenida Gaviota and Ola Vista intersection. A blue Chevy pickup with an unknown about of passengers, reportedly threw water balloons at a vehicle with it’s window down and smacked the driver in the face. 

At 9:53 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a reckless driver in the 100 block of Avenida Del Mar. There was a sliver, four-door, compact vehicle repeatedly driving up and down Del Mar at roughly 60 miles per hour. 

At 4:54 p.m. Monday, a 21-year-old-man was arrested in the 900 block of Avenida Pico. The man had walked into the Wal Mart with a knife and was attempting to steal objects. Security officers were attempting to convince him to put the blade on the ground but did not want to apprehend him. Police took the man into custody and bail was posted at $50,000.

At 1:09 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 100 block of Avenida Buena Ventura. The caller found a bag of hypodermic needles in the street for the second time in the past two weeks. 

At 11:04 a.m. Sunday, a citizen assist was made in the 1800 block of Calle Mayita. The informant directed police to a bag of beer cans, drug paraphernalia, and white powder which had been found in the street. There was no further report.

At 4:16 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the first block of Avenida San Antonio. The informant reported a man who appeared to be under the influence was attempting to get into their home because he was in a fight. The informant let the man use the phone then the man took off on foot. 

At 10:22 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Avenida Vista Hermosa and Avenida Pico intersection. The report said a group of minors were throwing rocks at passing vehicles and video taping the drivers reactions.

At 10:20 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle in the 200 block of Calle Roca Vista. There were two men cruising around in a red mini-van offering candy and asking questions about a lost dog to children in the neighborhood. The neighborhood residents were extremely upset and are contemplating a Neighborhood Watch program. 

At 9:05 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a vandalism in progress near the East Magdelena and Avenida Crespi intersection. There was a subject recklessly driving a golf cart on the golf course near hole 14. According to the report, the informant could see the carts head lamps racing across the golf course as the cart was tearing into the grass. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 5:26 p.m. Saturday, a 46-year-old-male was arrested in the 600 block of Avenida Vaquero. The man was very drunk when police pulled him over for failing to yield. He also was an unlicensed driver and had previous warrants. Police took the man into custody and there was no posted bail amount.
