CRIME REPORTS: Public Sex, Drunk Surfer

At 1:12 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Canada. The informant was reportedly having trouble with their eight-year-old-child who locked himself in the bathroom and refused to come out. According to the report, the child also proceeded to kick the door. 

At 10:33 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance near the East Avenida Pico and Camino Vera Cruz intersection. The informant reported a man in his 20’s who was pacing back and fourth while drinking a 40oz bottle of alcohol. 

At 2:10 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 2100 block of Calle Ola Verde. According to the report, the informant’s boyfriend was intoxicated and attempting to fight her. The informant fought him off by choking him and he then proceeded to fight with her friend in a hallway. 

At 10:19 p.m. Sunday, police assisted firefighters in the 400 block of Plaza Estival. According to the report, a 48-year-old-woman had taken too many prescription pills. Firefighters responded to the call and took the woman to the hospital. 

At 12:11 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a family disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Cabrillo. The informant reported a man and woman who were heard screaming and throwing things at each other. According to the report, police suspected narcotics were involved. 

At 11:45 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported hearing a hazardous explosion in the 600 block of Calle Canasta. The informant reportedly heard a loud explosion from the apartment and later saw a taped bottle in the street. 

At 11:44 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported hearing gun shots fired in the 1500 block of Avenida Estrella. The informant reported hearing eight “pops” south of their location. Later at 12:13 am on Saturday morning, a caller reported hearing two shots fired from behind her condominium in the 2100 block of Calle Ola Verde. 

At 10:08 a.m. Saturday, police arrested a 33-year-old-man near the Avenida Vista Hermosa and Avenida Pico intersection. According to the report, police detained a man who crashed his vehicle into a pole and appeared to be intoxicated. The man was driving in a black wetsuit and had a surfboard on top of his car. 

At 12:25 a.m. Saturday, a caller reported an indecent exposure in the 200 block of Avenida Granada. The informant appeared to be upset about a couple who were having sex outside his home. The couple left before police had arrived. 

At 8:15 p.m. Friday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 2400 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, a minor stole a 40oz bottle of Mickey’s Malt Liquor from Dad’s Liquor store and took off on his skateboard. He was last seen heading toward the OC Tavern.
